Secret Garden Tea Table
This weekend, I had the privilege of decorating and hostessing a table for a lovely ladies' tea benefitting world hunger relief. Inspired by the fresh, spring green of maidenhair ferns and old books, my table's theme could loosely be described as "A Secret Garden." For my centerpiece, I haphazardly stacked vintage books in green tones in three piles around a tray with some floral moss, and tucked in pots of maidenhair ferns in between the stacks. Some happy daffodils fill a miniature copper tea kettle. My napkin rings are two-inch lengths of 1.5" copper pipe. The favors are chocolate bars wrapped like "brown paper packages tied up with string", complete with stamps from around the world and a custom cancellation stamp. These favors also served as placecards. It's usually the little details that make the biggest impression.
