Little Blue Box
As we are approaching our fifth wedding anniversary, it has been fun to reflect on our affianced life and the flurry of preparations leading up to our wedding day as well as the special errands we did together. One such “errand” was a trip to Tiffany to purchase our wedding bands. Nathan had already given me a Tiffany engagement ring (what a doll I married!) and so I knew I wanted the full-circle diamond eternity Novo band to complement it. He wanted his ring to be platinum, like my rings, and in a classic and rounded shape, not too thick, to complement his minimal style.
When we let our sales associate know that we had come to select our wedding bands, we were whisked into a little side room and presented with a silver tray of Champagne and chocolate truffles! Tiffany offered complementary engraving, so from a variety of font and symbol options, we selected a script font with our initials and our wedding date. All engraving is done at Tiffany’s flagship store in New York, so while we did not leave with our rings that day, they were shipped insured to us within a few weeks.
Of course we understand that you pay a premium for the “little blue box” but were absolutely willing to do so with the understanding that our rings would be of the highest quality, conflict-free, and ethically and sustainably sourced. In addition to the complementary engraving, Tiffany also offers a lifetime of cleaning and inspections, which is always a nice experience. Because Tiffany has locations all across the country and world, one of my favorite things to do is to visit a new store to have my ring cleaned while I browse and dream a little bit.
